Policy of Selecting Students for the Study Abroad Program (SAP) at AUM
- Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the SAP, the student must:
- Complete all courses of the first and second years at AUM with the minimum GPA defined by the hosting university.
- Provide proof of English language proficiency mandated by the hosting university.
- Demonstrate sound academic success and conduct: integrity, maturity, time management skills, and communication skills.
- Fulfill the requirements of the host university.
- Provide all the required recommendation letters from the academic advisor and/or the Dean of the faculty.
NB.
· Students who are expected to graduate are not eligible to apply for the SAP.
· Graduate students are eligible to apply for the SAP, provided they are covered by the Memorandum of Understanding with the university partner.*
II. Application Process
- The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) and the International Office (IO) announce the opening of the SAP, including all requirements through AUM’s website and social media channels.
- Eligible students can apply through the DSA.
III. Selection Process
- The Council of Deans, at the beginning of each academic year, forms a SAP Committee chaired by the Dean of Student Affairs, and the membership of the Director of the (IO), the relevant Head of Department (HoD), and the international student's officer (Rapporteur).
- The SAP committee reviews all applications and then nominates the candidate students based on the following criteria:
a. The level of academic achievements of the student and conduct fulfilment.
b. Meeting the eligibility criteria based on the regulations and requirements of AUM and the hosting university.
c. A successful personal interview.
d. The approval of the hosting university and the student’s academic advisor of the registered courses (modules).
- Student responsibilities:
a. Complete the application form at the hosting university
b. Prior to departure, the student should select the courses and get the approval(s) from the academic advisor at AUM and the hosting university
c. Obtain the required visa, health insurance and other travel documents
d. Attend a pre-departure orientation arranged by the DSA
Commit to being an ambassador for Jordan and AUM through his/her commitment, academic achievements and by organizing activities to present and introduce Jordan and AUM to the students and faculty at the hosting university
