Languages Center

  • The Language Center at the American University of Madaba aims to deliver exceptional learning opportunities and experiences, empowering students to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
  • One of its primary offerings is the Intensive English Program, meticulously designed to enhance students’ overall English language proficiency and prepare them for undergraduate studies at AUM. This program facilitates accelerated language learning, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while fostering critical thinking abilities within a condensed time frame.
  • Beyond intensive English courses, the center caters to the growing interest in foreign language acquisition. With a commitment to teaching excellence, it offers instruction in a diverse range of languages, such as Italian, French, Spanish, and others.
  • Recognizing the increasing global interest in learning Arabic, the Language Center has developed a specialized Arabic Language Program for non-Arabic speakers. This comprehensive program includes courses such as Arabic for Beginners, Expanded Modern Standard Arabic, Advanced Arabic, and Colloquial Arabic, providing a well-rounded approach to mastering the Arabic language.

IT Center

At AUM, the IT Centre (ITC) plays a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive array of IT services and products to both students and employees, aiming to empower them in accomplishing their goals and fulfilling their missions.

Notably, the ITC offers an impressive range of services, including application development and maintenance, a readily available help desk, meticulous planning and management of IT infrastructure, reliable web hosting, robust information security measures, and valuable training and consultation services.

The ITC takes immense pride in the exceptional quality and responsiveness of the services it offers. The dedicated team at ITC is committed to providing nothing short of the best, particularly when it comes to ensuring data integrity and security of AUM’s crucial information.

Health Center

The AUM Health Center aims at providing the best physical and mental healthcare services for all members of the University community by providing primary health care, prevention focused services, learning experiences and medical days to develop health knowledge and skills in sur.

The medical center staff consists of a highly qualified team with prolonged experience and a deep rooted desire to help. It consists of two doctors, two staff nurses ,a pharmacist as well as a medical records technicians to aid in all patient related affairs , committed to providing the best possible healthcare services and counseling assistance to the entire AUM family and it surrounding community .

The medical center is fully equipped with the most up to date equipment and fully stocked pharmacy and emergency room.
It mission has always been to help the student get full medical treatment for all acute conditions, as well as counselling and referrals to a specialist via medical insurance forms if the case warrants it. The medical centers ‘s ER room contains 3 beds supported with all the equipment needed for acute , critical and surgical conditions.

With these facilities, we serve cases ranging from the simple common cold to the sudden dreaded heart attack.
For critical situations, we provide all the first aid treatments needed to stabilize any patient and then transport him/ her to the nearest hospital via an ambulance fully equipped with all the necessary first aid equipment and medication .

Services Department

The Services Department consists of two sections:

OPERATIONS SECTION:
The Operations Section is committed to providing exceptional operational services to AUM students, faculty, and employees. Student feedback on the quality of the services provided is always taken seriously into consideration. The department ensures the availability of quality campus security services, guarantees the provision of reliable transportation services, and is also responsible for maintaining a green, beautiful and clean campus.

LOGISTICS SECTION:
The Logistics Department is responsible for ensuring that the entire supply chain management function is carried out, maintained, and developed in alignment with the university’s goals, using the most efficient and effective methods. This includes the storage, distribution, warehousing, movement, tracking, and delivery of goods. Additionally, the department handles other tasks, such as supplying and maintaining furniture and office equipment throughout the university. The department also manages all events that take place on campus.

Engineering and Maintenance Department

  • The main responsibility of the Engineering and Maintenance department is to supervise and follow up on construction and maintenance works at the university.
  • The department also includes Engineering Workshops in which practical training is offered to the Faculty of Engineering students. It also supports all faculties and student projects and provides the best technical supervision.
  • The Maintenance Division maintains and assures the sustainability of the infrastructural systems pertaining to electrical and sanitary installations, heating and air-conditioning, construction and water management across the campus.

Financial Department

The Finance Department consists of three divisions: Students Accounting, Payroll, and General Accounting. It offers high quality financial services to the entire AUM community, most importantly students. In the spirit of excellence, integrity and dedication, the Finance Department is committed to becoming a leading finance services provider offering the highest level of services consistent with international standards and regulatory guidelines.

International Relations Department

The International Relations Department at the American University of Madaba (AUM) was formed in 2017 to enrich student experiences, expand faculty capabilities, and broaden resources by building a strong relationship with international universities and organizations to encourage international and cross-cultural educational and scientific Exchange.

The International Relations Department aims to:

  1. Develop partnerships with International universities and organizations.
  2. Provide opportunities for faculty members to extend educational opportunities, enhance knowledge exchange, and enrich intellectual discourse, quality of education, and research strength the academic through international partnership and programs.
  3. Promote and facilitate the Study Abroad Program (SAP) for AUM’s students to acquire global education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and develop a better understanding of cultural diversity and opportunities to engage with international students.
  4. Support the internationalization of AUM campus by providing learning exchange opportunities and intercultural programs for international students.

Marketing and Public Relations

The American University of Madaba Marketing and Public Relations Department oversees all marketing and media goals, which align with the university’s mission and vision. Moreover, the department works on strengthening the university’s position as an ideal model university in developing the capabilities and talents of students.

Furthermore, the department utilizes digital and traditional marketing approaches in order to coordinate all needed internal and external communication between the university and the local, regional and international communities.

Attracting students from Jordan and all over the globe is considered the main objective for this department, as well as for publicizing the university’s educational, academic and moral mission and building partnerships with other local and international academic and industrial institutions. Enhancing the overall perspective of AUM and spreading a positive image within the local community (The Holy City of Madaba) and the larger Jordanian community through mutually profitable projects and social responsibility.

This department is built on different levels of communication and divided into separate divisions that work simultaneously and synergistically with each other when requested such as General Design, Local Media Relations, Outreach Communication & Recruitment, Events Management, and Digital Marketing.

Human Resources

Human Resource Department operates in line with the University’s strategic plan. It performs professionally all HRM related activities including; recruitment, workplace safety, employee relations and insurance, compensation planning, labor law compliance and training. We focus on providing equal opportunities for retaining and motivating administrative and academic staff members and strive to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Library

  • Our aim is to assist the all Users in finding the space you need to explore and embrace new ways of creating, sharing and applying knowledge and the University Library supports research and education at the University by providing information services and collections, access to electronic resources, as well as by giving courses in how to search, evaluate and handle information.
  • The library provides access to information Services and acquisition, global electronic databases and international academic journals. It holds more than 46,500 items and materials in all formats including 2,000 audiovisual items and over 19,000 electronic books.
  • The Library holds subscriptions with 2 databases (EBSCOhost Research Platform, Emerald Premier) covering various areas in social and pure sciences, humanities, education, language and linguistics, art, medical sciences and ethnic studies. The Library also facilitates the borrowing, renewal and holding of textbooks, as well as the printing, copying and scanning services for students supported by free Wi- Fi services.
  • AUM Library has a great team of dedicated, professional staff who are highly regarded in their fields of expertise. All of them are committed to helping you.

Accreditation and Quality Assurance Department

The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Department is responsible for the implementation of Accreditation standards in collaboration with faculties, departments, and appointed committees. The department follows up on maintaining university and program capacities and increasing them when needed.

The department is also responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance procedures, policies, and forms according to and in-line with the university’s mission, by-laws, regulations, and the standards set by the Jordanian and American Legislative and Accreditation bodies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage, Monitor and follow-up the Jordanian Accreditation with the related Jordanian bodies.
  2. Manage, Monitor, and follow-up the American registration, and Accreditation with the related American bodies.
  3. Define and require reports about the University, Faculty members, Students, and the process of education periodically.
  4. Coordinate and prepare for national and American accredit tation.
  5. Determine factors that are critical in obtaining both accredit tations and set and implement effective plans to address those factors with the related bodies inside and outside AUM.
  6. Ensure that all academic and administrative units perform and achieve their outcomes according to the adopted standards and requirements.
  7. Identify gaps in data & reports, suggest procedures to maintain the quality of data & reports, ensure the proper use of knowledge and internal/external assessment data.
  8. Ensure that existing and planned curricula, ILO, assessments, procedures & regulations meet the required standards.
  9. Organize training and orientation for faculties and staff.
  10. Organize, train, and follow up the department to obtain the Jordanian quality assurance, international programmatically accreditation, and ranking.

Admission and Registration Department

The Admission and Registration Department provides students with exceptional services related to admission of new students and a smooth registration of courses. The Admission and registration policy is based on the bylaws and regulations approved by the University. In implementing those regulations, the department ensures, in cooperation with academic advisors and deans of faculties, smooth transition of students from one level to another until they graduate.

Department Of Councils’ Affairs

The Councils’ Affairs Department (CAD), established in November 2016, is connected directly with the President. It shoulders the responsibilities of controlling and ensuring accuracy of the directory of all official documents formulated by the governance bodies of AUM to sustain effective reliability of the regulatory framework of reference that guarantees a transparent culture of accountability.

Control and Internal Audit Department

The Control and Internal Audit Department was established in year 2019. The department reports functionally to the Board of Trustees, and administratively to President of AUM. Internal Auditing is an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity with the purpose of adding value to improve the operations.

The main responsibility is to provide independent assurance that the university’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.

E-Learning & Development Center

The Center for E-Learning and development fosters and advances technological initiatives to improve student access and engagement in the classroom while supporting faculty in effectively incorporating educational technology into their teaching and research activities.

Monitoring and Evaluation Department

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Department at the American University of Madaba (AUM) serves as a cornerstone for monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of the university's strategic plan. The department meticulously monitors the progress of operational plans across all faculties and administrative departments through an assessment tool and rigorous data validation methodology. 

Key Areas of Focus:

  1. Planning: The M&E Department supports the development of strategic goals, objectives, and actionable plans to guide the University's progress.

  2. Monitoring and Evaluation: It regularly tracks and evaluates performance against established objectives, identifying opportunities for improvement.

  3. Reporting: The department ensures transparent and timely dissemination of information related to performance, outcomes, and resource utilization.

Risk Assessment: It proactively identifies, analyzes, and mitigates potential risks that may hinder the achievement of the University's strategic objectives.

Fundraising and Projects Management Office

The Fundraising and Projects Management Office at the American University of Madaba (AUM) plays a critical role in driving the university’s mission of sustainability, innovation, and academic excellence. By securing essential financial and non-financial resources, this office is instrumental in achieving AUM’s strategic goals and ensuring the institution long-term success.

This office is dedicated to fostering institutional sustainability through improved financial management, a vibrant research environment, and upgraded infrastructure, allowing us to provide cutting-edge facilities. It actively pursues funding for groundbreaking projects, research initiatives, technological enhancements, and enriching student activities. In addition, it cultivates valuable connections with the local community and promotes cultural exchange programs that unite AUM students with their counterparts from American and European universities, paving the way for global collaboration.

Under the leadership of Acting Director Dr. Hanan Madanat, the Fundraising and Projects Management Office is essential in creating interdisciplinary research opportunities, and developing state-of-the-art resources tailored to the needs of students, faculty training and development, and the wider academic community.
