The Student Associations at AUM, established under the “Student Association” regulations No. 12 of 2019, are integral to fostering a vibrant and supportive university community. These associations aim to bring students together, help them adapt to university life, connect them with their peers, and equip them with transferable skills. By participating, students have opportunities for personal growth, meaningful connections, and finding their place within the university.
Each faculty's Student Association strives to:
- Instill a strong sense of responsibility among members toward the university community, families, and the nation.
- Offer students enriching social experiences through arts, sports, and entertainment.
- Build positive relationships with the broader community through active participation in community service and related projects.
However, despite the importance of these associations, we are currently facing challenges in engaging students to actively participate in nominations and elections. Many students appear reluctant to get involved, which has made it difficult to maintain the vibrancy and inclusivity that these associations are designed to promote.
Addressing these challenges requires renewed efforts to raise awareness about the benefits of joining Student Associations, creating more compelling opportunities for involvement, and ensuring that students feel empowered to take an active role in shaping their university experience.
