The aim of the course is to prepare the students for studying computer hardware (architecture and organization). The main topics covered in this course include: number systems and conversions between them, data representations, Boolean algebra and its application in circuit design, the logical gates and their relations. Tin addition, the students the topics that include combinational and sequential circuit analysis and design, digital circuit design optimization methods using logic gates, multiplexers, decoders, registers, counters and programmable logic arrays. |
