The course includes studying selected classes of natural substances from plants, animals, and marine sources. The course will discuss the most common international and locally registered plant medications, their pharmacological effect on different body systems, including the respiratory, nervous, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular systems, and their anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. The course focuses on traditional medicine, its preparations, and definitions, terminologies in Phytotherapy and homeopathy applications, and drug interactions and adverse effects. Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), medical herbalism, nutraceuticals, and homeopathy that use animal, plant, mineral, and synthetic substances in their remedies will be discussed and explained in detail.
