This course encompasses the study of the taxonomy, chemical constituents, and naturally occurring drugs derived from medicinal plants. It will cover methods for the cultivation, collection, drying, packing, and storage of medicinal plants. Additionally, the course will discuss the isolation, characterization, and assessment of biological activities of secondary metabolites. It will also include the study of secondary metabolites found in both organized and unorganized drugs, such as anthraquinones, terpenes, glycosides, alkaloids, and volatile oils. |
