The course covers basic knowledge, techniques and skills related to the practical microbiology such as, media preparation, principle and types, aseptic techniques of handling bacterial culture, inoculation, how to grow and identify microorganisms based on culture features, staining, and biochemical metabolic differences. It enables student to identify a mixture of more than two microorganisms. Additionally, the lab will cover basics of antibiotic sensitivity testing methodology, and experiments related to the physical control of microorganisms, techniques of membrane filter for microbiological analysis of water samples.
